Cottage 1 has been extensively renovated and fully equipped to a very good standard, and the living room opens out onto a pretty lawned garden with views over the surrounding countryside. The cottage, which lies adjacent to the owner’s home, overlooks rolling fields and is located just outside Castlebellingham - one of the loveliest villages in the area. It’s just a 10-minute drive to the seaside village of Blackrock, with its great selection of pubs and restaurants overlooking the beach with breathtaking views of the Cooley Mountains. The nearest town is Dundalk, which boasts a large variety of shops, restaurants, nightclubs and leisure facilities. A 30-minute drive north brings you to the stunning Cooley Peninsula with majestic mountains rising out of Carlingford Lough. The medieval town of Carlingford, with its well-preserved stock of historic buildings, nestles between the mountains and the lough. A fabulous selection of restaurants and pubs are dotted around the town. There’s easy access to the M1 motorway to Dublin, 50 miles, and Belfast, 56 miles. Popular local activities include swimming, horse riding, angling, sailing and windsurfing. Historic sites to visit in the area include Mellifont Abbey, Monasterboice High Crosses and Round Tower, and Knockabbey Castle and Gardens. The location is ideal for golfing breaks with nine excellent golf courses in the region including the world famous links course at Baltray. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
